Nikos Bakoulis is a prominent Greek mixologist and entrepreneur, renowned for co-founding two of Athens’ most acclaimed bars: The Clumsies and Line. His innovative approach to mixology and dedication to sustainability have earned him international recognition.

Career Highlights:

  • Early Beginnings: Bakoulis began his career in the hospitality industry at the age of 14, starting as a waiter in a traditional Greek restaurant. By 23, he co-owned his first bar, Spitaki, near Thessaloniki. His passion for mixology led him to Athens, where he collaborated with Vasilis Kyritsis at The Gin Joint. Together, they explored innovative techniques, including pastry methods, to enhance cocktail creation.
  • The Clumsies: In 2014, Bakoulis and Kyritsis launched The Clumsies in central Athens. The bar quickly gained acclaim, ranking as high as 3rd on the World’s 50 Best Bars list. Known for its inventive cocktails and welcoming atmosphere, The Clumsies has become a staple in the global bar scene.
  • Line Athens: Building on their success, Bakoulis and his partners opened Line in 2022. This venue emphasizes sustainability, featuring a small distillery that produces wine-like beverages from local fruits. Line’s innovative approach earned it the 12th spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2023.
